The art of chocolate has a big tradition in Belgium and there are a lot of chocolateries, famous not only for their delicious taste but also for the manufacturing process. As a chocolate lover, I can say that Belgians are the best in this industry! The funniest national icon that I have ever seen, for sure belongs to Bruxelles – the statue of a little boy peeing in a fountain. The legend says that Manneken Pis has saved the city from a fire by peeing on a burning fuse.
It is a fairy-tale medieval town, defined by picturesque cobbled lanes and dreamy canals. Summer is the best season to visit Bruges as you can take a canal cruise and admire the city architecture. Besides that, the cold season in Belgium is rainy and windy, definitely not the best one for tourists. I am not a gourmand, but Belgian cuisine is one of my favourite. Bruges is known for a local recipe of cooking fried potatoes, not to mention the Bruges beer.
